Admissions
take place through an online counseling procedure that is conducted
every year by the ‘Admissions Committee for Professional Courses’ or the
ACPC. All candidates are admitted on the basis of the ‘Merit List’
created by the ACPC.
For admission into the B.E/B.Tech courses,
40% weightage is given to a candidate’s score in JEE (Main) and 60%
weightage is given to his/her scores in the Class 12th or equivalent examinations.
The ACPC conducts this counseling in 2 rounds. The 1st round is for all the seats that are available for admission in all engineering courses. If seats are left vacant after the 1st round, another round of counseling is conducted.
What percentage of seats is the counseling conducted for?
The
counseling is conducted for all the seats (100%) in Government and
Govt. Aided colleges as well as for 75% of the total seats in Private
and Unaided colleges in Gujarat.
Keep in mind that counseling for
the rest of the 25% of seats in private colleges is conducted separately
by individual colleges. Details for allocation of seats under this
category can be found on the websites of these institutions and private
colleges.
Some colleges in Gujarat including the Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology, the Nirma University, the Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University,
the Institute of Infrastructure, Technology, Research And Management
and the Institute Navrachna University serve as exceptions to the
general reservation norms in Gujarat as they allot a significant portion
of their seats to candidates from across the country.
Out of the
total seats that are available for allotment through ACPC (100% in Govt.
Colleges and 75% in Private), 15% seats are reserved for candidates who
belong to Scheduled Tribes, 7% seats are reserved for candidates who
belong to Scheduled Casts and 27% seats are reserved for candidates who
belong to Socially and Educationally Backward Classes, including Widows
and Orphans of any caste. To be considered in either of these
categories, it is necessary that you should be of Gujarat origin.

including your JEE (Main) Roll Number and the PIN mentioned on the
information booklet etc.
Once you choose a password and create an account on the website, you will gain be able to see your ‘Registration Details’.
Candidates
who belong to the ‘Open and without Tuition Fee Waiver’ category will
be able to register online using their registration details. Candidates
from all other categories would need to print 2 copies of their
‘Registration Details’ and go to a designated ‘Help Center’ and confirm
their registration.
You will need to take 2 copies of your
Registration Details along with signed copies of your mark sheets and
certificates to the help center. Also take originals of your
certificates and mark sheets for verification. Once your documents have
been verified at the help center, you will be provided with a
‘Registration Slip’.
After you get the registration slip, your

added to the ACPC merit list.
Log on to the website and choose the
colleges and courses that you wish to pursue. You will have to ‘Lock’
your choices once you’re sure. Keep in mind that you will only see the
choices that you are eligible for on the website.
To aid you in
this process of choosing colleges, ACPC conducts a ‘Mock Counseling’
procedure to familiarize you with the online counseling procedure prior
to the actual counseling. You will be able to see the cut – offs for
various colleges and courses after the mock allotment of seats through
this ‘Mock Counseling’.
Keep in mind that seats allotted through
the mock counseling are not actual seats and the only purpose of this is
to give you information about the cut – offs for colleges which will
help you make better decisions with regards to choosing the best college
that you can get into after the actual counseling.
During the
first round of counseling that will take place after the mock
counseling, you will need to make final choices with regards to the
course and college you wish to join.
Log on to the website after
the results of the counseling have been declared to see whether you’ve
been allotted a seat or not. You will be able to see an ‘Information
Letter’ in case you’ve been allotted a seat.
If you’re satisfied
with the seat you’ve been allotted and do not wish to participate in the
next round of counseling, take a print out of the Information Letter
and make the payment to the college online or through Bank Challan. The
amount you’ve to pay will be mentioned in your Information Letter.
You
will then need to report to the help center with the proof of payment,
copies and originals of your documents along with your Information
Letter. You will receive an ‘Admission Slip’ once your documents have
been verified and admission has been confirmed online. The duration
within which you’ve to report to the college will be mentioned on the
admission slip.
Report to the college and submit your information letter, proof of payment, documents copies and admission slip.
In
case you are not satisfied with the seat you’ve been allotted or have
not been allotted a seat, you need not report to the college and use the
website to make your choices for the 2nd round of counseling which will be conducted for the seats that are still vacant (if any).
